Default Oil cooler fan stays on high when car is always on

Well i installed the oil cooler fan switch so I could flip it on in heavy traffic. It worked great for about a month. Just 3 days ago, for some reason the fan (passenger side) is always on the high position even when I turn the switch off.

So even when I drive the car in heavy traffic and "spirited" the engine temperature will get barely past the first tic. So the high fan is doing it's job, keeping the temperature down but it won't go back to "normal" use.

I reattached the green cut wires I cut to stock settings, but it's still on the high position as soon as I turn on the car.

Any ideas? Thank you

The fan resistor on both sides are brand new. Replaced it 4-5 months ago

There is a plug behind the passenger headlight. If this is unplugged it will cause the fan to operate on high. Check that first.

Next, swap the relay up in the trunk/fuse box area. From the above referenced website:

"Relay is the same as that used for the A/C blower motor and the rear heater blower".

See if that fixes the issue, otherwise go thru the other steps mentioned on the site to zero in on what's wrong.

Hm I just went outside and looked at the plug. It seemed untouched. I fiddled with it and it seems to work normal again. I won't know for sure until my commute to work tomorrow. I will read through the document.

Thanks! That may have been the quickest fix ever on this car!!

Unplug to see if it has corrosion. Spray with a maf cleaner or other elec spray. Then I'd dab just a wee bit of dielectric grease on tabs or prongs
