Default Parking Brake

I do not have access to my owners manual and I am having an intermittent problem with the emergency/parking brake warning light. It does not come on when the park brake is in use however, it does come on intermittently when I hit a bump or accelerate with the park brake off. I thought I would start with the fuse. Could anyone tell me the location and number for it?

Take the lid off the fuse box and turn it upside, you will see a list of all the relays and fuses in there in several languages.

The parking brake light switch is located at the base of the brake handle. The fasteners holding the switch in place can work loose and cause the symptoms you describe.

Take a look at this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-location.html

additional note - I had a worse problem caused by a body shop who was supposed to fix my car after a significant accident - they not only left the wires in the switch disconnected, they lost the special pin that holds the shoes in position and replaced it with a roll pin that then fell out - I found this some years later when the car almost rolled away on me - I made a new pin on my metal lathe and raised hell with the insurance company, ultimately getting the body shop decertified for their repair work. So, for your problem check the switch as others said. If the brake doesn't work, pull the drums and see why.

I got in there and found that the copper band had come off the plastic block. To get it back on correctly I had to remove the plastic block, reposition the copper strip and adjust the contacts. All now works great.
Thanks again,
Mike
