Haha... I like them but will never buy because there are going to be waaaaay to many on the road. Every soccer mom in suburbia and every rich college kid in Boston will be driving one.

Porsche had a bunch of them displayed at The Pinehurst Concours this past week-end and offered test drives. Larger than I expected, sportier looking than Cayenne. Nice interior as you'd expect. Lots of BMW X-owners will be tempted. Not my cup 'o tea, tho.

I might consider one used and heavily depreciated 5-10 years from now as a small family wagon. Definitely not a 993 replacement.

One of the sales guys at my local dealer said their entire allotment for 2014 is already sold out.

A Porsche SUV just doesn't do it for me, can't see me ever owning one. If their brisk selling of SUVs keeps the parts in stock for the older models then I guess I can be happy about that.

I'd take the new Audi SQ5 over the Macan.

To me, it's better looking, with 95% of the performance of the Macan Turbo for half the price

No Porsche SUV never. Which means I will probably end up owning one in 5 years. I hope not.

I thought the same thing but I dumped an LX570 after driving a Cayenne Turbo.

I am not in love with the lines of the Cayenne, but the performance and comfort are amazing. Not the cure all for all things, but it certainly meets the needs of most SUV / sedan owners.

Only buy one after someone eats the first years of depreciation.

PS- The 997 was replaced by the 991 too.

Not my cup of tea, but so long as Porsche is making money they can develop better sports cars.
The performance of a lot of these sporty mini-vans and wagons is truly impressive.

I remember slagging a porsche suv years ago but I've gotten used to them now. My wife may end up getting a macan to replace her Infiniti which seems to be better for me. I think.

Not quite, Macan Turbo starts around $ 70K and SQ5 (Prestige) is about $60K.
Macan S (also with V6 Turbo) actually costs little less the SQ5.

Macan is more sporty and Q5 has little more cargo space, they are based on the same 6-year old platform.

I was hoping for the base 2.0T Macan model would come with 6-speed manual but it will not. I have been considering both as a replacement for my old A4 Avant but will probably go with the new Volvo V60R or maybe BMW 328 diesel wagon.
