Default A little OT, something followed me home.

Been looking for another 911 for quite some time. I really want a 964, still do, but just couldn't find the right car. Then I got a text from a friend who said another friend had "an old Porsche" he needed to sell. Turns out it was an 83 911SC in Cassis Red. The owner had got the car from his father five years ago as a wedding present (father owned it since the 90s) and as he had a young family just wasn't using it.

This is NOT a perfect car but rather a good solid driver. After a thorough check over we discovered that it only had one very minor oil leak, possibly oil cooler, and needed shocks. Well, the tires are also scary old but I want to get rid of the BBS wheels so I'm on the hunt for a set of Fuchs and new rubber. Other items to rectify: remove window tint and "big stereo".

I know it's not a 993 but we love all the old stuff right? Below is a genuinely bad picture from last night. $100 of Chevron 94....it wasn't even empty.

That looks like a sweet old ride, Tim.

Congrats, and may she bring you many years of spirited motoring

I think I know this car. Did it once live in the Dunbar area?

And gahh, I miss 10,000 things about Vancouver, but gas prices are nowhere on that list.

The SCs hold a dear place in my heart as they came out when I was 17. Enjoy.

CONGRATULATIONS!

That 964 doesn't yet realize how lucky it is to have you for a new father.

Thanks for the 'advance info' emails -- sorry you haven't heard from me

That will look good with the Fuchs. You should do the aftermarket 17's.

Thanks guys. It's funny, I know a fair amount about my 993s and their past. This car and it's history are a mystery.

Yup, cheaper than kids.

Cactus, I'm gonna do 16s. Actually considering 15s too.

Well you know I'll be there to check it out this weekend and yesterday evening was perfect weather to pick up a new 911.

So with you on the removal of the tint, stereo and BBS bling!

I grew up with the accordion bumpers. To me that's the classic 911 look. You have a nice specimen there, congratulations!

Johnny
