Talking Pix of Pocher 1/8th scale 993

I needed to buy another Porsche so this was the only one my wife would approve of. This is the 1/8th scale 993 (narrow body) model made by Pocher-I built it last year. Someone even sells a detailing kit for the engine-there's no escape from the mods!! I think it is still available from some suppliers in various colors, although I believe it's out of production. Sorry-pictures are the best my camera and I can do-

Crazy!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely amazing!!!!
Only thing to mention are A/C rubber hoses, they are too big in diameter.

Jack-
Thanks for the feedback!
I know-some of the engine details are a little off. Just for reference, those hoses are slightly over 1/8" in diameter.

Model looks impressive in the house on display. Eventually, it will go in the garage in a case next to it's big brother.

You mean... you don't have a "Porsche Shrine Room" in your house? Please don't mention that to my wife; I told her that all the guys did that.

I've always loved models, but I'm not sure that 1/8 qualifies as a model. That looks AWESOME. Thanks for sharing.

Steve-
I'm in the toy business- I do have a toy room in my house-there are mini Porsches in there, plus other new and vintage toy and model vehicles that I collect.

Great looking model! I especially like how the SUV in the background adds to the authenticity of the one photo.

Do they make a PSS-9 kit to lower the model?

Here's a pic of my Pocher Silver Widebody. The model behind it is actually a 1/18th scale. The Pocher makes it look like a 1/43rd!!!

Robert,

Sheesh, you're making my "Porsche Shrine Room" look absolutely modest by comparison. I see I'll need to add a new wing to keep up with you guys. I mean this in the nicest possible way... you're a bigger nitwit about Porsches than even I am. Congratulations. The models look fantastic, BTW.

Robert-Model looks great-room looks pretty cool too, even from the glimpse of it!
If I had the time-I would love to make my model into an RS....

Steve-
The kit is actually not too bad to put together. There are some things that could have been engineered better. The kitis very delicate, the doors need some trimming/adjusting to fit properly and the engine is rather lame w/o the detailing kit. If you go on the web and look up Pocher, you'll find at least one or two sites that provide building tips and mods...

Anyone do completed models? And where would I get a PPI on one? That silver widebody is really really nice.

Hi Franklin:

Thank you kind Sir, for the tips and advice. I might call/e-mail you when I get started.

Are the engine detailing kits still available?

I'll look for those other sites,...

Kim,...Kim,....this is gonna be a street car, although I think you ought to get one of these and make a 1/8th true-to-detail Yellow Zonker,.....

Chris
Search the net under "Pocher Porsche" or "Pocher". When I purchased mine, there was someone selling them assembled, although they were asking top dollar.

Steve-
The engine kits are still available-I purchased mine on eBay.
Here's a link for one kit from same vendor that I purchased mine from- (no affiliation)-

Hi Guys,

These models are pricy if you buy them retail but you can often find them at a more reasonable price on E-bay (approximately 50% saving).

Cheers,

David
