993 Drivers in Canada...Read me!
I have been hunting for a C4S or a C2S and after months of web surfing it appears difficult to find the machine I want in Canada. There are some good options in the US but the taxes and import duties kinda kill the deal for me. I keep wanting to find one in Canada. So..I thought I would put it out there to my Canadian friends.
I am looking for:
C4S
Polar Silver or ocean blue metallic
Black Leather
mileage in the 40 - 60K
I want to drive it not let it sit. The super low mileage ones scare me a bit because I will make them a show piece instead.
If anyone is interested in selling or if you know of any dealers or private owners that might want to sell. Please drop me a line
Thanks
Mark

Mark,
Not too many C4S models here in Calgary, but I will keep an eye out for you. There may be more in Edmonton… try to pull up PCA websites, like ours here at www PCA Wild Rose Region.CA, ( i hope that is the Link,
Air cooled Regards,

Just keep at it, persistent and ready to act would be my best advise. Unfortunately there is a decent amount of Vancouverites looking too, especially now with this amazing spring weather. The traditional method of seeing a car advertised and going to check it out isn't the case anymore, more like networking now.
You will notice a number of dealerships can't even get 993 inventory, including the all mighty Weissach. Best of luck with your search, don't be afraid to hit up all the local pcar service shops and let them know your seriously looking for one. Offering a finder's fee to them will go a long way IMO.

Thanks Bert and Knight.....I am hunting and very serious. Money is burning a hole in my pocket and this spring weather isn't helping either! I have been into Weissach and many of the other usual suspects and none of them have 993s. London Motorcars did move a 98 993 while back but that is the only one I have heard about moving through a dealer around Vancouver.

Many of the Canadian cars are leaving the country, heading home to Europe. I suspect the Canadian wide-body 993s will still be more expensive than a US car, even with the duty and exchange. Much smaller inventory and large 993 market in Vancouver. There are more 993's in Vancouver per capita than many other markets.
Do you know John Broek? He services the vast majority of 993s in Vancouver.

I posted a WTB ad on usedvictoria.com and the seller of my car responded. He was only considering selling at the time and wanted it to go to a good home.
There was a 6spd black on black C2, 80k, aero kit and sport seats here in Victoria at Forward Auto for $49,995 for months. It was sold to a dealer in Calgary who listed it at $68,000. I just checked autotrader.ca and it looks to be gone now.
This narrow body 95 C2 looks like a good deal if it has no stories and positive PPI.

I've seen 3 993s up here and only one of them was an WB. And on top of that I've only seen one NB for for sale a couple years ago which was in pretty rough shape. Although there was there was a blue TT that the local dealer wanted $114k for about 8 years ago...
It's slim pickin' up here.

I was in the same boat as you when I bought in 2012. Took me 2 years to find a car. Ended up finding it in Cow Town. Be patient, not many around but you will find one.
I like the fact that my car is Canadian and not imported. I like the km's (and child seat tethers)

Good Luck with your search, I know pickings are REALLY slim in Canada. To give you an idea, when I bought my car 5 years ago this specific dealer that specializes in air cooled 911s had 6 993s for me to choose from. Today this dealer has 1(Auto cab). I asked the dealer last year why his inventory is so low he told me he has a waiting list from European customers that'll pretty much buy sight unseen. So they don't even hit the market and are getting sent to Europe.
Stay patient, and I'm sure something will come up.
