Default Bilstein HD's

I am looking for the Bilstein HD shocks for my 993 C4S. The best price I have seen is from Shox.com. Does anyone know of a retailer that sells the HD's for a reasonable price? TIA.

Just remember that not everyone has the full threaded front Bilstein HD shocks. At this time, I believe only Carnewal does.

adscab,

If you're definitely going with the HDs, and you've read/recalled the past posts on limitations with lowereing the front end with the HDs, I would get them from Gert, as Viken mentioned. When I was considering the HDs (no longer am) everyone I've asked had absolutely NO idea what I was talking about when I brought up the question of front ride height. Gert's got the solution.

Thanks to all for the replies. Edward, my car is currently running the stock shocks with eibach springs. I love the current ride height but it sounds likes the front may come up a little with the HD's? I bought the car this way and LOVE the ride height. Are there other shocks I can use to maintain the current ride height?

No, you can set the height the same as it is now with the Bilstein HD's and existing Eibach springs. Just make sure you measure correctly before you remove the existing setup.

Max: Good photo; it goes into my car photo album; better in B&W in that setting than it would be in color. Sorry if that's in front of your house, but at least you've got your priorities straight.

Jim, it was in front of an old abandoned store somewhere in Oregon on a great twisty little highway close to the coast. If you would like it in a higher resolution let me know, I will email you the JPEG file.

here it is in color-

Hello Viken. So, if you go with the bilstein/eibach combo you really do not need the full threaded fronts, to lower the car. Becuse the eibach springs will already be lowering the car. Is this correct? Thanks

that is correct Al. it is if you are using the Porsche springs (such as m030 or ROW m030 springs) that you will run into trouble.
not until after purchasing and installing my eibachs did i learn (from Steve Weiner, Viken, etc.) that the eibach springs will continue to sag during use. i have not noticed any diference on mine yet, but they do not have that many miles on them yet. so, if i was to do it over, i would probably go with H&Rs; although they will put the car a little lower. I believe Temple and probably others used some sort of spacers to actually get the ride height up to where they wanted it with the H&Rs
