Koni FSD + ROW M030
Hey folks. I'm curious if anyone is running FSDs and ROW M030 springs. I've seen plenty of reports of FSDs with ROW M033, but not many with sport springs. After reading through many, many old forum posts, 'consensus' seems to loosely suggest people should either go FSD/M030 or HD/M030. I'm trying to figure out of this 'consensus' is real based upon peoples' experiences or if this is simply because no one has tried other configurations.
In other news, I think I need a drink now...

I'm getting FSD's and M030 springs installed in the morning. Wanted he lower ride height but trying to maintain the cars beautiful supple ride.
I'll tell you how it works out.

Yes they are. I'll get the car back on Friday. They are also doing my yearly inspection and as soon as I get to the bottom of what is going on with my A/C sorting that out as well. I'll be digging into my A/C issues this weekend(checking for possible shorts and leaks) and hopefully the car will be in tip-top shape soon.
Looking forward to seeing what the car feels like!

I'm an idiot. I'm getting the M033 RoW. EP called yesterday to say that they talked to Koni and that Koni did not recommend this setup and what would I like t do.
I frantically searched through the forums for testimonials and emailed the guys at Paragon before telling them to go ahead with it.
The question that I have is.......Is there a European version of the Koni FSD's as well as an American version? If so, then Koni saying that they don't recommend this pairing has merit as they are 2 markets with different products for each. If not then the European springs should work without any issues because that's whats fitted on the identical European product.
I also wish that Koni would get their s**t together and make a definitive decision on this and not say no in one instance but say yes in another. Last thing I need to hear from my installer is that the cars one the lift, the wheels are off and the clock is ticking BUT the manufacturer says the parts you supplied aren't compatible.

You are saying you supplied M033 and Koni's and heard they aren't compatible?

My question is whether or not a RoW M033 is a lowering spring or not. Yes in the U.S.A but no for the rest of the world.
So does Koni make 2 version of the FSD's or not? If yes, then their concerns are valid, if no then their argument doesn't make any sense.
All moot anyway as I told them to continue with the install despite Koni's concerns. No point having a forum if you don't go with the consensus view of a well discussed topic.

Here's why I'm wondering whether ROW M030 springs work with Koni FSDs (when ROW M033 springs certainly do):
As I understand it the M030 have a variable spring rate where as the M033 have a fixed spring rate. In other words, as the M030 springs compress, they get stiffer and more difficult to compress, while the M033 provide the same resistance to compression regardless of whether they are already compressed some. I am wondering if this variable spring rate creates problems with the variable dampening technology in the FSDs.
I agree gmorat, it sure would be nice to get clear explanations from the manufacturer on all this.

Not exactly on point here, but I am running FSD's with H&R sport springs on my '95 coupe. Lowers the car about an inch and provides a much firmer and more controlled ride than stock, but not as stiff as a track setup would be. I don't know if this is a "recommended" setup or not, but I can tell you it fits fine and works well. The car was realigned and corner balanced at a pro race shop (SpeedSyn in Tampa) and handles very well on the racetrack this way.
