Top Speed of a 993

Me and Leon993 have taken our cars to top speed , he did 185mph on his 993 and I did 180mph in my 964 , he can tell you how the 993 felt , as for my 1990 c4 , it was stable and no shaking at all , plus a heck of a rush

I have seen an indicated 174mph in my 993 (not on the street) which GPS was an actual 169mph. Speedo's read high. It pulls pretty pretty well to 150 mph, slowly to the indicated 170 mph and the final 5 mph literally takes FOREVER.
The car felt really stable to ~150 and it started to feel very light in the front end north of that speed (typical Rlist mods, suspension, etc) . I definitely wouldn't want to be on anything other than a pristine surface. I have seen an indicated 190MPH + in a couple of F-cars (430) and 996/997TT's and they felt way more stable at 170+. Not complaining but it definitely takes 100% of your focus!

Burning Brakes
I was well over 155 last fall on Rt. 83 North headed to Cars & Coffee early one morning... shhhh... dont tell anyone.
Redlined 5th and pulled at least another couple hundred rpm in 6th. I'm a 96 C4... It was very stable. I was impressed with how it felt off throttle decelerating. I usually never drive that fast.

Never exceed the capabilities of your car or driver. In my case the driver's capability limit comes into play a lot earlier than the car's. Knowing this keeps me alive. My son has a name for guys who don't know this, he calls them "non-breeders"

Some comments make me really smile here
I'm really thankful that I grow up with the 'AUTOBAHN'
Full speed is common so long as the traffic allows it, even with my 30 years old 3.2
(at 265km/h on the speedo )

I think there was a Texas mile 993 Turbo effort in the recent past.
Also recall reading the front end tends to get "lite" as approaching top speeds.
MidOhio back straight 140ish and RA 145ish. Sebring back straight, too busy setting up for turn 17 to look :-) FalconDriver may have a number for Sebring as it is his home track.
Track DE'ing (vs Racing) for me very quickly became about corner speed, braking zone, not so much top speed at end of straight.
