Default Throttle Blip Normal?

I've been driving my 993 for over two years now and have always wondered about a gas or thorttle blip when I down shift. Say going from 2nd gear into 1st the car will sometimes blip on its own when the clutch is depressed. The revs jumps up a little bit and then settles back down. This usually happens in stop and go traffic but not all the time. Can anybody tell me why it does this?

you get on the clutch before you get off the gas?

other than that, this should not occur

this sometimes happens on mine as well.. seems like the revs get too low and the ECU is preventing a stall.

Happens to me in very slow 1st gear conditions. Moving along in slow traffic at low RPM 1st gear, back off throttle using engine braking, then have to get into the clutch to use the brakes. Engine gives a momentary jump up to approximately 950 RPM, then settles back to the usual 750-800. I just figured it was what Phil said....I bogged it too low and the ECU was compensating when the clutch freed the engine.
