Molded Trunk Carpet

Molded Trunk Carpet
Call me OCD, but I really wish the trunk area of my 993 looked more like my 997. Does anyone know of a molded trunk carpet kit? Or any suggestions on a mold-able plastic that could be used to make one?

I sometimes think the trunk carpet looks like schlumpy bull****, but then i realize that i don't give a bleep, and therefore move on.
to be useful...i've never seen what you're looking for.

Quad, I never think about it until I open the trunk, and then it always bugs me that it just looks like a pile of carpet. Maybe I'll just go with an RS style option, for less coverage.

I don't think you will ever get to the fit and finish of a 997. Best bet is a stiff foam backing or carpet reinforced with fiber glass and resin. Personally I think you would find the trunk space would significantly decrease.

Quad,
Pics are on my PC at home. I'm up at Moosehead Lake Maine snowmobiling for a week.
This is the highly optioned silver over cedar green cab.

having had a 997 and the 993, the 993 trunk definitely lacks the fit and finish of the 997 trunk, but they are also structured rather differently. The 997 trunk has the plastic compartments and doors, which give it more straight lines, and then the 'well' for the trunk. The 993 takes the earlier approach of simply covering what's there in an effort to maximize space, possibly? it definitely looks a bit slapdash, but i agree it only tends to bug you when you open the frunk. i'm sure you could build a structure that would give a cleaner look, but you'd also cut into your allowable room. i guess the easiest thing would be to add a 'flat' back panel that went up at a certain angle and then flattened out to cover the back section. it still won't look like the 997, but it will have straighter lines and more form.
