Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet. It was a nice day. Love the look of your car! I unfortunately would not fit in it. I need every inch of headroom a cab offers.
Thanks I may have to have it rebuilt. The dealer wants $3500 for a new one /plus labor and they aren't sure thats causing my brake fade. I seem to trust the information you guys have as far as the brake bleed,
before a $4000.00 guess job.

ABS pump issues can supposedly be caused by a bad batch of brake fluid that Porsche supplied to 1995 and 1996 993s. A bad pump won't necessarily cause fade but is prone to cause a soft brake pedal, a condition that can mimic brake fade. BBA-reman.com is the go-to place to have your ABS pump rebuilt, but I would suggest following the suggestions in this thread before you send the pump off to be rebuilt.

Please check the Porsche part number...
the original ones should have #993.355.755.00 for the C2
PET shows supricingly only #993.355.955.00 but it seems to be the same coz the Bosch number is for both the same Bosch# 0 265 213 001
you can find them on ebay; forget about some dream prices they ask for, i got mine finally for 200 euros ... works perfect!

Be aware that there are 2 different pumps used on 993 w/ vacuum boosted brakes
1 is 3 channel the other 4 channel
the 4 channel was used on cars w/ M220 option and can be id'd by the 2 p/v's coming off the unit, 1 to each rear wheel. The 3 channel units have only 1 p/v that goes to a circuit that splits to the 2 rear corners
