1995 with faulty CR-1 Alpine Radio

I spent $200 to have a work truck radio (that I don't drive) repaired last summer as the newer cars are getting so un-enthusiast (and thief) swap friendly which in a way is good until your one just breaks. I prefer the oem radios in trucks as thiefs have zero interest in them. They were available on ebay for nothing, but you don't enter a code like ours the cars computer 'reads' the radio on start up. Dealer reprogram required, not all same year radios compatible. So you can buy a radio and it not work and the dealer wanted the $ for trying, whether it worked or not. Ours are way easier in that regard. I finally found someone local who fixes old radios. He had a lot of radios in his shop too!

I have a CR1 in my 1995. It finally crapped out while at the dealer. They tried to get it working by sending it out.... No luck.
I am now a 210 or 220 buyer.

1995 CR1 with hi-fi.
So I pulled the CR-1 because it no longer showed anything on the display when powered up and didnt play music.
I now have a 220 installed with proper face plate and aux iphone cable.
I am getting power to the unit with memory but still no sound?
I tried connecting another speaker I had laying about in my shop directly to the back of the deck and it indeed gave sound.....
Could it be that the wiring to get the signal to the amp is done incorrectly in my install?
Could it be the amplifier is also toast?
Anybody here know how to convert a 220 to factory hi-fi amp?
Anybody here know how to test the hi-fi amp?

I bet your local car audio place would fix it up for you but if you are up for more troubleshooting I'd give Becker (that's where you got it, right? ) a call and see if they can't help you trouble shoot a little bit. If they can't /won't I'd call SW Stereo and talk to Stefan. I bought mine from them based on reviews on RL about their customer service. First thing unusual is he picks up the phone when you call! After I agreed to buy it and paid he goes, ok if you have any trouble installing it just call me up ok? Just make sure you are sitting in the car with the radio. A+ customer service there...
