Rubber Rings behind bezels
The BLACK rubber rings behind the black bezels are turning GRAY. I looked into new ones and they run about $100.00.
Is this replacement a DIY?
How do I get it black again?
TIA

The gauges are very easy to remove. You can pry them out with a flat-head screwdriver. There is no need to remove any dash parts.
As for getting them black again without buying replacement rubber, try squirting some silicone on them.

I've also had good luck with a product called "Back to Black". Apply just a LITTLE to a rag, let it soak for a few seconds, then apply to the rubber. Works great on rubber bumper trim and window surround rubber and metal. Try any auto parts store.

I am in the process of doing this project. I purchased the new rings and so far they look great. I have one problem though!
How do you get the Tach out without removing the Steering Wheel Column cover?
Thanks

Randy,
The tach can be removed.
It's just a litle trickier than the other ones.
