I suggest everyone here stops throwing money around... There are so many factors that matter that no one here seems to ever understand. These things can only been seen and felt up close and in person. I've bought way too many things without having seen them in person. Some worked out well and some didn't. Even good inspections sometimes miss the obvious. Stop being backseat drivers, sideline quarterbacks etc.. If the poster wants to sell it, let him sell it, for whatever price is fair to him. I'm burnt out if the do good'ers spending other people's money.

My version of a famous quote:

"The problem with Rennlist is that you eventually run out of other people's money"

I can't speak for any other poster on this thread but my post clearly outlines my criteria. If the car met those qualifiers I would get out my own money and purchase the car on the spot (but again poster says he is not trying to sell the car so this isn't an attempt to buy the car) for the $90k I mentioned. Obviously to meet my qualifiers would require an in-person inspection to ascertain whether or not it met the standard. I don't think that is "spending other people's money". I think my post at least gives the OP something solid to work worth as its a real number, i.e. one that is coming from a real buyer with real money.

I do agree that often on RL many valuation threads get dogged down with opinions from people who throw around values with no $$ behind them.

A quote attributed to Margaret Thatcher:

"The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money [to spend]."

Oh I'm not worked up. I just don't see the point of it.

So far, we've seen quotes from $60K to $125K, so the OP's desire to get an accurate price hasn't been met at all, so no way to even help the OP. So no point there.

No comprehensive photos of the car, so no way to even help the OP. So no point there.

No comprehensive description of the car, so no way to even help the OP. So no point there.

An unknown seller with an unknown car. So no point there.

No disrespect to the OP, but more often than not, these are "dangler" threads, used to foment interest in a for sale quasi-auction, as already evidenced by this thread. As per RL rules, if someone is selling a car, they need to list it for sale, with a price.

If it's not for sale, what's the point? Anyone with a computer and a few minutes can easily deduce 993 prices on the Internet with a simple Google search. And if the OP really wants to know the price, surely he knows that no one can accurately deduce a price over the Internet with no real photos, no description, etc.

So, I'll end with where I began. The OP wanted a price on his car. The quotes have varied wildly with $65K difference between low quote and high quote. Why? Because with no comprehensive photos or description of an unknown car with an unknown history from an unknown owner, no one here can answer this question accurately.

So what's the point?

If recent history is any guide, this car will be for sale very soon, if a deal via PM hasn't already been struck. The OP already has some fish on the hook. That is probably the point of this thread. There is a good reason there is a RL rule about not posting "dangler" threads. It exists for this very reason and to prohibit this very outcome.

You don't need to care about the RL rules. But some do. And most exist for good reasons, such as this

Doesn't look like someone who is a "private individual" looking at the email address - maybe I am wrong...

Thinking the same thing. Goofy was the first, and likely the most frequent, responder and all his bloviating was about what a waste of time the topic is. Pretty funny.

The thread title doesn't interest you, move on to the next one.

Not to be the eternal di$k but you'd probably be looked at like less of a douchebag if you used a reasonable screen name or didn't sign your post with the name of a fictitious person, at least on your second post...

If you look up Cal's phone number in google you end up with this smiling face among other facts about a certain Hardy Drackett...
