$80-100k
The miles, the color, the options, the year.
It is a great car for somebody who cant find a way to go back in time and buy a new wide body 993 Carrera.

The OP was just asking for an estimate of what his car is worth. Whether or not we agree with it or not I would say that with the following caveats:
- 100% original paint as verified by paint meter
-100% original
- All important items present: window sticker, service history, books, keys, toolkit, etc..
- No aero kit
- No stories, negative car fax, cosmetic blems, etc
- It has actually received some service in its lifetime (many of these low mileage cars have gotten almost no service since people say it has no miles. Service is miles or time...)
The car would sell IMMEDIATELY at $90k and would get listed in the $110-125k price range. It might take a while but it would sell for something north of $100k. This is not an offer to buy his car, but I would step up and pay $90k for his car all day long.
We can argue all day whether it is worth it or not, but ultimately there are people that think it is. That may or may not be you. Just my .02

Yes nice to know its local why don't you at least bring it out so we can see it that car wants to be driven c'mon. FWIW I had a 996 bought new in 2001 in that color and absolutely loved it. I looked for months for one in SG when shopping for my 993 but ultimately settled on White. Not disappointment but I'd take another 911 of any year in Slate Grey in a heartbeat. A 97 C2S...talk about desirable.

OP - sorry that I don't have any input on what it is worth; I tend to try to ignore price threads as I enjoy my car more that way. I would love to see some additional pictures though if you are willing to share. Oh, and welcome to Rennlist.

A price check would be more successful if it started off as "I was offered $5 for my bone stock 8k mile 98 C2s 6-speed slate gray over black. Is that a good price?"
Post more pictures please. Sounds like a great car.

Agree with above. If this is a no storys car, Sloan would be selling this car for 120K.

Rare color. One owner. Highly desirable. Worth a TON.
But why does it matter what's it worth, unless you want to sell? Are you selling or not? Do you need to know the worth for insurance purposes? Charting your net worth? Such silliness.
This is a veiled 'for sale' post by a non-member, and the mods should know better.

Putting a rare color, low mile C2S on ebay is not sound advice. Remember, the last time we saw this situation it did not end well....
I'd say it's worth around $100k with all the necessary qualifiers in place.
Regardless - what a shame to see a hoard of interesting cars packed in to a stark garage like sardines....

PCA descends on it the last Sat of each month. Some show up other times.
The fun one, particularly for your car, is the "SCC" in RSF each Sat at 9am. Not quantity, but usually VERY high quality. Literally Pebble Beach winners, and other choice or valuable cars.
