Run away. Don't walk.

The accident was in 2000 and the repaired area needed a re-spay, which they did. Dealer offered to put the car on a hoist to show me there are no structural damages, only cosmetic. I have very limited experience with Porsches and stopped buying a 2012 M3 with less than 10k miles when I saw this car by chance. Always been a fan of the brand in general but timing/circumstances have worked out until now. They have dropped the price to $45,888. It has 4 new tires and I’m told they did around $4k of work on the car. Dealer says "This car is a one owner car. The owner lives locally and has owned several Porsche models over the years. We have serviced the vehicle, we have replaced the tires, we did a full safety check, and additionally we also cleaned and bled the brake fluid lines. There was some debris build up in the lines so that was addressed". Given what I’m told, is it worth considering the car or should I look for another one with similar mileage?
Thanks in advance.

After selling mine and seeing what the market is I believe someone will pay close to that. I don't think it should be any of us though.

OK, sounds like $45 is too high. What should the price be, so to speak?
The picture shown on the thread is before they re-sprayed it.
Thanks.

You may want to see what exactly was serviced. A 20 year old car always have something to repair or upgrade i.e....supsension, plugs and wires, gaskets just to name a few. I'd asked to contact orig owner to discuss bodywork and maintenance like someone suggested.

Well sorted, 45k is not too crazy for a dealership sale. Private sale 38-41k depending on options/mods in this market.

Keep shopping. Do a few cl searches in nice climate regions (unsalted). You'll find a good one.

Sound advice considering the sellers advertised price...Or offer $10k less if you feel you have to have it.

Dont be in a rush, and be prepared for the shopping process to take 6-8 mos...

Default White not an easy color match

From experience and not formerly anticipated, white can be a tough color to match, and there are different " formulas" for GP white as well. I ended up doing essentially a 75% full glass out re spray in order to match the previous partial when PO (of JPP fame)!had windshield rust spots redone. My paint guy mixed 23 small batches before he was satisfied and said later it would have been easier just to do the entire car from scratch. I now have the elixir code should any further painting be required, however.

I have a great appreciation for the rare painters out there that can properly tint colors so that the color matches well enough that the body panels can be properly blended. It appears that the dealer's painter lacked that skill and simply painted each panel.
