Default Repair of Broken Key FOB

I've done a search but cannot find anything on repairing a broken 993 Key Fob. My spare key fob does not light up when the button is pushed. I changed out the battery, but the fob is still inoperative. Will not actuate the door locks or the ignition.

I did find a statement in my searches that mentioned that a common failure was for the actuating button to malfunction. The statement was then made that there were posts in the archives that explained how to repair the malfunctioning button. But, my search turns up nothing.

Can someone provide guidance or a link to the article on how to repair the fob button?

Sometimes, the spring that the battery sits on gets "flattened" which results in the button not making proper contact. If you haven't already done so, removed the battery and carefully bend the metal spring up so as to ensure contact when you press the button.

Hope this helps...

The batteries are not high volume sellers at the store so many are on the shelf too long and may be DOA out of the package. Try a known good battery.
