Step 1 - consult TSBs on pcarworkshop
Step 2 - take way too much stuff apart
Step 3 - swear... a lot
Step 4 - more trail and error
Step 5 - more swearing
Step 6 - find the culprit (not mentioned in the TSBs). A bolt that seems to join the roof assembly to the A pillar that's actually easy to to get to. Tighten a bit.
Step 7 - SUCCESS = 11% ABV
For those that stumble upon this next time, this is a super easy fix for a nails-on-the-chalkboard creak. Just remove the first few hex nuts that hold the top of the door seal to expose the loose bolt. Also a good time to make sure the door seal drains are working properly.
