installing wind stopper... any advice?

My 95 993 C2 Cabriolet is about to get a new wind stopper. The one I bought is an OEM part with a gentle bend on each end and a zippered flap. It didn't come with the mounting hardware kit so I ordered one and should have it in a day or two.

I've searched the web looking for a visual DYI instruction. No luck

I can't even tell exactly where it will be mounted beyond the logical (behind the seats) duh! If you have a picture of your mounted screen, that shows where it mounts to, I would sure like to see it. Any "drilling"?

What's your take on these things? good, bad, asset or other?

Thanks

Here is a pic I found on the net. Mines fits exactly the same. I think there are a couple of different types. Mine has 2 mounting brackets bolted to the tops frame. No drilling required as the brackets are OEM. They have large holes that the windcreen slips into. Note that one of the ends has a keyway that must be locked into place. It then has a zipper that matches the other half of the zipper built into the tops liner. To use this style windscreen, you must have the liner with the built in zipper half. Its a great windscreen that I use all the time. Plus, when the top is folded up, it automatically folds nicely into the top as well. There is also a small "ball and socket" lever that can be undone that will let it lay flat onto your boot cover when you have it installed and do not want it up. I would provide more pics, but mines in storage until spring.

Thank you!
ble911,

The picture made it all come together. I was sure puzzled there for a while. I agree, it will tuck up into the roof with the top up.

Here are a few snapshots of the finished install.
BTW, your cab looks great!

I've painted a few of those, of different cars, on garage walls and even one in a high end Porsche shop. Haven't done any out of state so far. I don't know how difficult it would be to make vinyl applications that big. PM me if you're seriously interested in having me do something for you.
