very odd. I've never had any reaction to my car, positive or negative, in any situation.
perhaps its based on location
Similar here in Northern CA. At least in a negative sense, even during the slope nose craze days. Lots of positive, and if someone wants to talk I'll do what I can to spread the word.

It probably is location specific....People commenting on my 993 is not odd at all. It is my daily driver and as such is at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, The UPS store, the grocery store, the liquor store and local restaurants, etc. on a daily basis. In the span of any given week, I will get 2-3 comments on the car; more than that if I'm in town on weekends when the weather is car-friendly. Our town is kind of a gateway to the mountains and there's a lot of sports cars and street rods that roll through on the weekends and those folks are always car friendly. I've even had a State Trooper at a license check roadblock tell me how much he liked the car. I rarely get any negative attention other than the occasional kid in a jacked up crew-cab pick-up who wants to show how loud his pipes are.

Was with my brother in-law at a small airport to get his plane serviced. Took the courtesy car (Prius) to go get a bight to eat. I was at 85 mph and he wanted to take a pic. I took that Prius to a level none of it's owners ever dreamed of. Great **** there......
Aren't you a cop in California as posted in the 993 TT forum? Is it smart to be posting this admission of guilt on a public forum? We are not talking 10 over here

Cops never give other cops tickets, don't you know that? If he is a cop, he's probably never had to obey the law; just administer it. Oh well.
Has anyone experienced an idiot behind the wheel of their Porsche.
I am sure if there were enough of them around, I would, but I don't see very many Porsches on the road.
As for drivers in general, there are plenty of idiots behind the wheel. If they are not texting or dreaming in the left lane of a highway, they have their turn signals flashing for miles....just to name a very few examples.
I see a lot of idiots on motorcycles, far more here than in Europe...I guess that would apply to car drivers as well, far more here than there.
There are plenty of idiots in this world. Their choice of what car they drive doesn't negate their stupidity.
Also regarding driving Prius at unsafe speeds, you wouldn't believe how many Prius I see speeding way beyond the posted limits here in the Bay Area. Driving a car with those bicycle-width tires at very high speeds (90mph+) is just stupid. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure it negates most of the improved fuel economy that motivated most people to purchase those cheese-shaped cars in the first place.
