Default Sport Seats on Pelican

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...st-wheels.html

was the leather on the sport seats different (i.e. supple, etc.)?

the ones advertised above look like they were refurbished or nearly new?

thanks

I'm glad I got on the "sport seat" train when I did. Not heated and $6,500 firm.

I'm also glad I purchased a set of 993 Technology wheels too. Prices are definitely not going down. That's for sure.

Looking back, only just a few years ago, 993 sport seats were roughly $3,000-$4,000. Now they're roughly $6,000-$7,000.

I think very few are actually paying that...if any. Yes, someone like Opo may pay that when pressed for a specific color, but he is "special" in that regard . I had a fellow offer me a set based on a wanted ad in October that are nearly as nice as these for $4,500. I offered $4K and he passed. I ran another ad this week and he offered them to me again for $4,500. He has been trying to peddle them for 4 months for $2K less than these and can't sell them!

I honestly think this is another case of people with no thoughts of actually buying seats pulling prices out of their butts on Rennlist and everyone jumping on. If and when these seats do reach $6,500, it will make more financial sense to buy a NB car, take the seats out and resell the car for just a few thousand less or maybe even what you paid for it. And yes, this type of thing happens with rare muscle car parts all of the time!

What's ur point?

Back to the seat pricing, if two identical cars were available for sale I don't know if hardbacks would add nearly as much as these seats are being priced at stand alone.

There were two sets recently listed on the local SF Bay Area CL. One set for $4,500, which sold within an hour or two of the listing. I was 2nd in line. The seller of the other set was VERY FIRM at $6,000. It may have taken a month +/-, but the seats sold. Both sets had black leather.

You are right Todynot, I don't see anyone paying much of a premium at all for sport seats. I had a C4S inspected by a Rennlist friend in Dallas last Sunday with 25,000 miles for $58,500. It had sport seats and I know I could have taken those seats out and the car would still bring $58,500. If the car was closer, I definitely would have done that.

I haven't seen them advertised. But if you've passed on them, then please send me a PM with seller's contact info. If they're heated, black leather and in excellent condition, then I may buy them. I think $4,500 is under current market.

Supply and demand. Simple as that.

As the prices for these cars skyrocket, rare parts will as well, like sport seats.

Get used to the new normal

I haven't passed yet as I am waiting to see what happens with the ones 45 minutes from me, but if I get them, I'll let you know.

The set that are 45 minutes away from you must be from the thread that was closed. Allegedly, the OP had offers from $5,000-$6,500.

Please let me know. I'd be willing to keep an extra set around my garage for $4,500. Thanks. GL.

I've thought about doing the same thing, but I will let you know what I decide.

Default The day will come

Some day someone will offer aftermarket replacement seat covers for the Sport Seat at reasonable cost.
