I think that the car is probably fairly priced and will be attractive to many, I would have taken a good look if I was in the market.

If you part it I'd like the front A-arms

Having bought a 993 DE car on this forum in the recent past, $38K should sell. It may take a few months, but pre DE season is the time to put it up for sale now. GLWS, you can always part it out later.

Why even consider parting a nice car? How much more do you think you'll get? IMHO, you'll go through $1.5 worth of headache for every $1.0 you make parting a car.

As a point of reference, we are rebuilding a 95 G-class race car that needed driver side sheet metal from the front clip to the tail light, because I could not bring myself to part it, partly due to not wanting the hassle.

Parting the car out will take time and labour which has a cost.
Im not sure what more you could fetch in parting it out vs. selling it complete to justify the time and labour?

I would list it complete, otherwise you will have a part time job taking calls, dismantling and packaging items.

You should be able to transfer the Ontario Canada title to another owner in the USA as long as you have the customs import documents.
A bonus is that the Canadian title would make it easy for Canadian buyers to bring it back into Canada so you have a broad market.
If the Canadian dollar wasnt so bad I would be considering it

parting out is a PIA!! You'll be dealing with stuff for the next year plus. If you don't mind the time, you'll probably get more, but not by a lot- some folks want to see how an engine runs in a car, trannie shifts, suspension handles, etc. lots of tire kickers in the parts world. at 38 - I think you have your answer-

Jim Cramer says SELL SELL SELL!!

BTW:
He never said he would sell for $38K ...
that was only just an earlier suggestion from Falcondrv ...

Parts would bring mostly (theoretically) more, but with a lot of work and hassle AND a lot of time. As also said earlier main parts go fast the rest stocked in the garage (like my own stuff...)

Some cars are priced to sell while others are priced to sit. Just look around at what else is out there. At $38k, your car should sell relatively quickly, especially as DE season is right around the corner. Don't part it out. The hassle from the vultures and bottom feeders is just not worth the aggravation. GLWS!!!

I've parted cars in the past, never again! One day (six months later) you will walk out to the garage and see a body minus the engine, trans, some suspension, some interior items and maybe a couple of fenders. Then you ask yourself WTH I am going to do with the rest...
And everything others have said about the pain in the azz dealing with "buyers" is way understated.

Op said $38k near the bottom of his post. I just agreed. Otherwise I would have said $32k in a PM and sent a check!

If you part it out, make sure you have a psychiatrist or a secretary and book keeper to help you deal with parting it out. Otherwise, between taking it apart and finding boxes, taking trips to FeDex and UPS plus dealing with Paypal, checks or whatever along with the emails you will go nuts.

I would start higher than $38K, anyone out there planning such a project would spend so much more.
