Getting Shaved and Ducked!
Rust repair finished... now for fun stuff
M003/GT2/RS Clubsport chin spoiler "Splitter" is in the works too and my Rennspeed ducktail is being massaged to actually fit well (it's not that bad but far from perfect... thats what $450 gets ya). Front bumperettes and plate frame mount holes go bye-bye and the rest of the front clip is also being repainted for cosmetic purposes. Maybe I'll do the rear bumperettes some day. The "Patina" can stay on the rear arches but I want shiny smooth stuff up front

how do you "fill" the gaps on the lower half on the sides of the duck tail? Cant tell from the picture but is there a lack of material or is the lid arched upwards and needs to be "massaged" like you said? I'm excited to see your end results. good luck.
The drivers side is actually a bit of an optical illusion. The ducktail gets THICKER at the center and its a shadow that makes it look like there is a gap. The surface is a bit higher at the body seam there. The side lines are actually fair. The top and bottom are another story. Fortunately there is enough material to reduce and shave and align. We have it adjusted as far forward as possible but the bottom line is lower than the points of the rear fender where the taillamps and rear hood all align... AND it touches the top right when opening so, little off here, little off there, should be fair. It's a vanity piece... If it aint perfect, I'm not terribly worried. But this thing is FAR from simply painting and installing.
Yup, this will be a fun one. Subscribed!
Were you able to pickup the TPC Unit on the F/S page? You are going to have one sweet sleeper 993when you get done.
Have you thought about painting the rear bumperettes? imo, that looks as good or better than the delete since the smaller US plate gets a little 'lost' with all the newfound realestate on the euro look, imo

I approve this message. Well done, Rich. Bummer you have to deal with the fitment issues. I got mine from Getty and overall fitment was very good, but even it needed some slight massaging to be perfect. However, it did not need any material removed or shaved, it was all alignment stuff. Looking forward to seeing the final result.
