Default Just picked up a 1995 Porsche 993 to Raul Welt RWB Widebody Conversion Thread

I just picked up a very clean 1995 Porsche C2 from Greg at GT Auto Lounge in Sacramento with 64k on the odometer. Took me about 3 months to find a clean coupe with black interior 993 in clean condition. It is really hard to find clean 993 right now that is not tiptronic or cabriolet. This is my fifth Porsche. I have owned three 996's and a currently have a 991 in my garage.

I will be documenting the build here on Rennlist from stock to Wild. I was going back and forth between Mexico Blue and Riviera Blue and finally decided on BASF Chemicals Riviera Blue. Trying to schedule with Nakai-san to come to the US in March of April for the installation.

Here are a few pictures of her before we cut her up.

good luck,
but
why sweat finding a "nice car" for this type of project????????????????
better to cut up something that needed help anyway IMO.

have fun.

Really. That will be two very clean coupes sacrificed to this aesthetic.

Yea- why carve up a good car for one of these things.

Good 993 are hard as hell to find at this point, why ruin a good one.

Too bad a 996 can't be back dated to one of these raw welts

Now I feel alot better about my mods. When I start second guessing about "why change it if it still works"? I will just look at this thread and be ok.

Embrace it, own it and most of all post pics!

I really enjoy reading Juha Gs threads, hope yours deliver the same depth.

Wow. And to think I've got a '95 Speed Yellow coupe shell with a dinged rear quarter that I have no use for anymore................

Yeah, but Juhas car is a track beast. Aren't most of the "Rauh" cars blvd cruisers?

What a shame to mess up a sweet 993. Plenty of 996's out there to screw up.

No!!!!

The car is too nice for that. If you must don't go rwb, a gt2 conversion is much nicer. Rwb makes 993s look like bumper cars.

Juha's car had track damage and the conversion made sense.
