Default 100,000 mile repairs....

I just hit 100,000 miles and decided to get new hydraulic lifters. Work started last week. My garage took out the engine, and saw that my clutch was shot, so I'll need a new one (I knew that was coming...), and my air filter was no longer good. Good that I can do the added work as long as the engine is out anyway. Despite the costs involved, it still beats buying a new 911 every couple of years (not that I would want to).

That's it? lifters, air filter and clutch? that's not repairs, that's basic maintenance. I didn't think you need to take engine out to replace lifters. Are you replacing gaskets while it's out? Also good time to replace ignition wire and plugs (if haven't recently).

The filter should be replaced every once in while (15K-30k miles?), but super easy to do yourself just don't put K&N in.

Is your clutch original, if so that's got to be the longest initial length of service that I've seen on rennlist?

Every clutch should last 100K+ with ordinary street driving.

I'm on my second clutch. The first was replaced around 100,000. I've got 210,000+ on this one.

That's why I said initial , I remember reading that you are still on your second clutch...amazing.

To me it seems many are replacing clutches at 50-80k miles...with few doing so at 90k.

Replaced mine while I was in there at 115K -- had probably 20K more life left.

How much do you want to spend? Check out my 76,555 mile thread to see what I did.

Friend (now with a Turbo) owned a '95 that had 150K+ on his nearly non-operational clutch. I think he picked the car up with about 120K on it, and just kept riding it. Other friend who now owns the car (having regretted selling his 4S a year prior) is still driving it as-is, from what I understand.
