I too have a set of essentially LPMMs - pretty good sound - Fisters are fabulous but these are a decent second best.

by the way; whatever happened to Leland Pate - we don't see him on the board anymore. did he leave the 993 fold?

I believe he sold his 993 a few years ago.

Anyone wanting a beautifully and cleanly executed LPMM 2" mod should contact Darin at Fister to get current pricing on the Original Fister I mod (they still do it). I love it.

The LPMM was a great value play DIY exhaust note enhancement. A local muffler shop made fast work of welding in the 2" diameter short circuit pipe with new hardware from Porsche parts making for a clean, freshened up exhaust system. A nice get-to-know your 993 DIY if there ever was.

On a 1 to 10 scale with 10 the most difficult, the LPMM is a 3 or 4. YMMV.

Using new hardware is entirely optional as a practical investment when working on our 15+ yr old cars.

Or you could do this; LPMM behind a push of a button:

Right click the little blue square and select "Open link in new window", works fine then. Pretty cool setup, the fab work looks well done. Before my 993 I had a Pontiac G8 GT which is the North American market version of the Holden Commodore VE. It had a 6.0L V8 in it which sounded fantastic with loud exhaust, but finding a system that didn't drone was near impossible.

I had started to fabricate a similar muffler bypass using those electric butterfly valves so I could run through the stock mufflers on long highway trips but still open it up for hooning around. I may add fabricating something similar to the 993 project list.

With my 1 3/4 pipe I don't feel there is enough difference between stock and lpmm to use valves. Valves for cat bypass or completely muffler-less maybe. With my lpmm, most if the sound seems to be directed into the muffler. It is still pretty quiet. Is that 2" and is it really that loud?
