DDM Tuning HID Kit - help with the spec??
HI Guys,
Looking to purchase a DDM Tuning HID kit and need some help with spec'ing:
35W vs 55W - which option did you go for??
Bulb type - I have no idea?? - help!!
Bulb colour - I was thinking 4500K - what have others gone for??
Do I need the HID harness, error eliminator and adapter cables?? - lots of questions, but I have no idea??
Where do you go to source HID's for the standard fog lights??

I'm replacing mine this winter. I went with the DDM Tuning HID kit because it was unbelievably cheap. I have 35W and 5000k. If they do not work or not what I want will revert back to stock. I did not get the HID harness or anything else.

For fogs or headlights?
I got 55W 3000k (yellow) set for fog lights. It works fine without any extras.
The extras can be bought later if you need them.
For headlights you would probably want 4500k 35W.

You don't need the harness or error eliminator kit. Go for 35w 4500 kelvin H1 bulbs for your headlight. I'd stay away from the 55w bulbs fearing they may not be so kind to the light housing and wiring.
4300-4500 kelvin gives the most oem like color, very white. The higher the kelvin, the more blue it becomes, then purple then you get the idea.
I may be wrong, but I think the fogs are H3.

I did 35 w, 4500 for both headlights(H1 bulb), and fogs(H3 bulb) ballast fits in the headlight housings, and tucks between the bumper and cover under the fog opening. Huge improvement to both...also get the led tea lights from Tore B on rennlist to color match the little marker light also in the fog housing.

i went for 35W , H1, and 4500K. the 4500 is closest to OEM HID white light like someone said. i wanted it to look as OEM as possible and am very happy with my selection.

35watt/4500K DDM slim ballast. The ballasts are small enough to fit in the headlight housing. There is a pretty good illustrated installation guide for 993 on the DDM website.
When I got mine, the fused relay harness was not included in the kit, so I did not order one. As a result, one of my ballasts failed after about 18 months. DDM replaced it free of charge. I did install the relay harness with the new ballast, and have had no problems since (3+ years).
I don't know about ToreB's kit, but I can tell you that DDM's customer service and tech support was very good. If you have a question, just call them and ask them.
Update: I see you are in NZ, so calling may not be an option, but they do have online support.

You would be better off going for the kit from ToreB. I`ve got them in my 993 and they are brilliant!

You need to post a pic of your car on the 'kiwi' thread.
Cheers
