I learned something today that maybe others didn't know either. Looking for an O2 sensor removal tool I stumbled on an Autozone ad promoting their free tool loaner program. All they require is a deposit which is returned in full when the tool is returned. I installed a high flow cat exhaust on my Audi A4 today and the tool came in very useful. They have many tools including torque wrenches, spring compressors, bearing extractors etc. IMO for those odd times when you need a special tool this is an excellent resource.

Not really a deposit, they charge you for the full price of the tool, and then refund it when the tool is returned. Great way to get that stubborn part removed. Sometimes their tools are of lower quality, not quite as bad as Harbor Freight, but close.

Advance Auto offers the same program. It is true that some of the tools are low quality and can be beat up and unusable. Inspect them before you leave the store.
