How to test if varioram is working?
I tried to search but that didn't work
Anyway, a post on Pelicanparts got me thinking. How do you test if your varioram is working?
Supposedly, you can here it "kick in" at over 5000 rpm. I always thought I heard it before (in my 1.5 months of ownership) but after a spirited drive this morning (multiple shifts at 6000+rpm) I noticed that I never heard any change in exhaust note or intake other than a linear increase in sound that you would expect. I realized that what I heard before was the glorious wail of our flat 6's "at song".
Is there any simple DIY test I can do to check this out? Now I'm wondering....

There are several ways to check for Varioram all 3 stages working correct. #1st when you 1st key on the ignition and try to start the car the VARIORAM will cycle through all the 3 solenoid valves. These are the actuators that control the 3 stage flaps.
#2 on the dyno with the engine lid opened you can observe the operation of the mechanical linkages opening and of course the sound will change. Just put on the earprotection and stand about 1-2 feet at 1000-6500RPM.
#3rd option- hook up 3 individual telltale light/annunciator and run the wires into the cockpit and see if it light up at each stage.
FYI- if your Varioram doeant operate properly or is intermittant........you will lose 20HP.

I know people have mentioned here that it normally kicks in around 5k rpms, however, mine appears to be kicking in around 4,500 rpms. Is that normal?
