Thumbs up Strut Brace=No More Windshield Squeak (for now)

Ok this makes sense-somewhat: I installed the strut brace from Gert last week. Noticed that the windshield no longer squeaks when backing out of my garage. It used to squeak all the time as I backed down the concrete ramp that is in front of my garage entrance. I'm thinking that stiffer car = less flex = less squeak. Haven't done anything to my windshield-it's been pretty tight except for when I drive over angled surfaces (driveway lips, ramps, etc...). Has anyone else had the same experience with a strut brace/stiffer suspension?

Yup. That's a nice side benefit. Increased torsional rigidity which translates into less unwanted body movements. I believe it will actually help your car maintain its structural integrity as the years go by.

Franklin:

I've noted that very same thing in most of the 993's that we've done here,.....

If you don't use your rear seats, install a Brey Krause B pillar harness brace.
It improves the rigidity even more....

Very interesting. I have both the strut brace and harness guide bar in my car and the windshield still creaks, primarily in cold weather. Maybe I need to tighten the strut bar!

Richard,
Haven't driven in the cold yet with new brace. I could be in for a surprise come fall/early winter. I do know that it has not squeaked since installing the brace last month.
BTW, which guide bar do you have?
