Default Roll Bar In!

I just installed the Das Sport Roll Bar I bought from RLer Pete Pressley.

I am putting the other parts in now and will post many more pics soon!

Thanks again Pete.

It should be soon. I am happy to have the adhesive removal finished. That was such a time consuming and unpleasant process.

Can't even imagine what that's like. I only had to wrestle off the rear seat cushion, and I thought that was a biatch.

That glue is what Spider-Man uses. They spray that crap recklessly.

Maybe I should paint the roof cage white too?

Looks good. Glad to see it made it in one piece.

Let's hope you never really need it.

What did you use?

Did my one 10 weeks ago ...
final result was a step by step approach ...

MEK pre-loosening
Gasoline as main solvent (stays longer that MEK) but residue is a spread cluing film over the whole area...
MEK as post treatment

took a while but after figuring out how to do best, it was a reasonable effort!

I used 08984 3M adhesive remover with a respirator rated for organic vapors. I used heavy duty chemical resistant gloves and goggles.

I mostly disliked the fumes/respirator because it made it hard to work more than an hour at a time.

I am also tall and the interior of the car minus all the soft materials is a harsh environment to work in.

I ended up rewrapping the wiring harness tape too. That wasn't bad.

Yeah, respirator and heavy duty cloves are mandatory with MEK (it eat my 'usual' gloves in seconds).
I placed a big van on the (working) side door, blowing all the fumes out to the other side. That helped a lot!

Love your car's "leaf tongue" in the last picture. The DAS looks great. I'd like to put one in my car. I'm keeping my eyes peeled as I don't want to pay full retail.
