I'm afraid there is nothing in that area. The guys that I know who live up there take their cars to Advanced Auto in New Windsor, NY or even Dan Jacobs in CT.

Not what I wanted to hear, I know the car has been serviced at the local dealer and we we all know, I need a good independent to take a look at it.

Both places you reference are to far to as the current owner to drive.

Does anybody have any ideas on what can be done?

Check the local chapter of PCA. Not sure if it's HVR or Central NY or another region. Email the local president or Tech person for assistance. Good luck!

You might call my independent in Syracuse and ask for a recommendation in Albany. Call Rocco at Cantech Automotive at 315-452-1168. Use my name. Rocco likely knows someone reliable in Albany. Syracuse is too far as well to travel but Cantech is a first rate operation.

Try Autobahn Centre in Albany. Either they can do it or recommend an air cooled specialist.

Great, thanks to everyone with suggestions. I'm looking at the car today and will then decide if I'm moving forward with a PPI.

I think it may know which car you are looking at. It's nice looking!

The car was very nice, pretty sure the front hood was replaced. But, I don't believe it was in a front end accident of any sort. Everything worked and it handled well. Missing maintenance history between 2002 and 2010.

The one issue which I'm concerned about is, the passenger side bank had some kind of miss (or stumble). And, you could feel the car was slightly down on power.

So, a leakdown/compression test is in order and a diagnosis of the miss would be required.

I'm deciding on whether I want to move forward on this car or wait. I will make a decision within the next day.
