These guys are visual! If you can post a pic I guarantee you'll get a response. I've read something like this before, I know you are not the first one to do this - sorry I can't be of more help...

I would squeeze the span of the alt belt together sufficiently to secure it , with engine in gear: hold the 24mm wrench firmly & strike sharply ..... the nut should release. A 'tourniquet', or even a 'C' clamp can torque the belt.

i finally got it off but had to resort to cutting the belts. Once I got it off I was able to hammer the 12 point in enough. I put the alternator in my sawhorse and had to put a tremendous amount of pressure on to. It felt like it was on as tight as a head bolt.

Now another problem, in trying to remove the fan which is stuck on like a mother I accidentally dropped the alternator and fan. The tip of one of the fan blades broke off. Ebay for $ 150 0r have it welded and polished. I'm going to have the blade powder coated anyway.

If it's any consolation, I broke several things (additional $$$) while trying to get the alternator in and out. AND put a big *** scatch on my rear bumper!!!
