Default Compare/contrast: 1997 993 RSR and 1998 GT2 Evo

Wondering what the differences across the board are from the factory on these two race cars? Production, set-up, drivetrain, etc…?

Looking forward to reading the inevitably knowledgeable responses here.

I wish I had had the chance to drive each and be able to provide some insight.
I too am looking forward to reading the replies.

i'll start with my possibly confused knowledge.

RSR was a narrow body NA 3.8L engined beast.
GT2 Evo was wide bodied blown second generation GT2 built to try to stay competitive. I think the Evo's had different aero than "standard" GT2s.

I'll stop here before I embarrass m myself.

We could talk about which race car was more successful during its career, however for me It all comes down to if you want bolt on fender extensions or not.

I love GT2 bolt on fender extensions.

The red car was on display at the 2009 PCA Parade as an RSR. The white car was for sale at TruSpeed as a GT2.

And then there is this RSR. I think both videos are the same car but the first (2011) is not Chris Cervelli.
