Frankly, this could be a real opportunity, but does contain risk. I would agree your buddy should low ball the dude and see if he'll bite. $20k might be good number if the body, interior and top are in nice shape.

FYI, I just paid mid-high $40's for a 34k mile 993 coupe NB, so there is room to make money.

Of course, I may have overpaid. In that case, you'd need to find another sucker.

16k. Better yet. Have your buddy buy a high mileage, enthusiast owned car with records.

My friend is discussing the SAI issue with Bodymotion... they have an "in car" way to clean those ports, needs to see if that car is a candidate.

Your buddy must be NJ guy, or at least close. I'm also in NJ and am aware of Bodymotion's "expertise" in flushing the SAI unit.
Good luck to him.

On the other hand, I saw a wrecked 993 on a bid (not ended) for $13k. Despite the issues, I think it's worth more and could be a good DD.
Buying this car is a risk but at a low price it could be worth to take a chance. Keep us informed if your friend bought it and at what price.

Not really, other than that I've also heard they're pretty good. I haven't used them for anything personally.

update: the car has had the check engine light on for 6 years or so, owner kept resetting it to pass inspections. Bodymotions said it will need the engine out to fix it... my friend will pass on it.
