I guess times were harder for Porsche back then. But they got the car right. The rims are easily changed. I know what you mean though. Correct twists would have been nice but they are still one of my favorite looks on the car.

Ever try to find a single spare wheel to replace one that has gotten cracked? Now, imagine that its TWICE as hard to find, since you have to find a LEFT-side wheel....no "right side" wheel will do.

Okay I've got a question.

Legend claims the 'Twist' wheels were designed to draw air into the brakes, thus cooling it. So how does it work on both sides?

Or is it drawing air in on one side, and drawing air out on the other side. Thus indeed moving air on each side but in the same asymmetrical direction?

Take care,

Default Bi-directional

Left side pulls (draws), right side pushes?

I do prefer passenger side as well

Meanwhile, the e34 M5 ( I own one) got the correct wheel cover direction for left and right side. The wheel is usually one piece forged and and hold two type of covers, the Turbine (which was designed to help cool down the brake temp) and th Throwing Stars which I like best.

Oh yes, these 993's are dream to drive and own

And the ugly, yet effective Turbine wheels

Sorry to post many photos

Most car manufacturers would love to get a car that wrong!

That's what has always bugged me personally about twists.

I like the passenger side too......in the UK! I thing the swept back spokes looks best, and more "natural".
