Default Thanks DME relay :)

This morning my car wouldn't start I cranked it and it simply wouldn't go. I started panicking for a second then I called the tow truck...but later I remembered that my good friend Rudy Mancinas had given me a DME relay six months ago and sure enough I switched relays in the car started like a champ!

This is a $15 part worth keeping in the glove box!

Rudy keeps a jar full of these
Thanks pal!!!!

Disregard that tow-truck!!!
Crisis averted!

Now just make sure you buy a replacement to put in the glovebox for when the new dies.

Or... Re-solder the old one and keep it as an emergency spare, that's what I did.

Test it after you solder of course to make sure it is functional.

Or install the reworked/resoldered relay and forget about it. I'll bet it outlasts the new relay. Their solder joints aren't much better.

nice picture of the fuse box. does anyone have a link as to which fuses go where? I've got a couple of stray wires attached to mine, and I have no idea what they are for.

thanks

There's a pictorial on the underside of the fuse box cover showing it.

Although if some one has added extra wires, it won't help with them, you will need to follow them and see what's on the end

thanks....i'll take a look (they call me Mr. Observant. I'm figuring if I know what the fuse is that the wire is plugged into, that might help narrow the choices down. I'm also wondering if those wires are contributing to the small drain I experience when the car sits for more than a few days.

Yup - you always should carry a spare.

Was able to help out a local 993 bro last month at the track. Not fun to be stranded far from home - esp. for something so silly.

Cheers

Matt

They were probably talking about the DME, not the DME Relay.

The DEM relay is in the fuse box. The DME brain is under the passenger seat.
