"The Cradle of Acceleration"--what does that even mean?

Beats me. Sounds like a dealership motto.

I just heard the car is sold. They move fast. Point being, I guess I need to set my goals in a wide range regarding $$,$$$. From 30k-80k LOL. Appears that if they have less than 40k orig miles the price simply doubles.

Internet asking price is rarely the selling price, and I certainly would not count on the dealer disclosing the real selling price.

Dealers, when they have a hot item and know it. always throw the baited line WAY upstream and let the biting fish dictate selling price.

I'd agree on the correlation between mileage and price. If the cars in the 30's mileage-wise, it's probably in the 40's price-wise for a nice C2. Add 15-20k to the price if it's a S.

I was shocked when I got my Panorama magazine in the mail last week. There wasn't a single 993 widebody for sale in there. Inventory is severely lacking these days. And nice examples are even harder to come by. I've been thinking of selling mine lately and purchasing a Ferrari...... :-) and no I'm not kidding

you about hit the nail on the head! Picked up my 993 today! I have not taken any photos yet as the link below does not do this car justice....
Woo hoo!

Mileage: 25k
C4S
Some minor imperfections in finish but normal for a 18 year old car. Not sure if the wheels are originals (black) vs aluminum. Also has a radar detector installed and an aftermarket Alpine head unit; neither I'm excited over but I've been picky enough. Too picky in that I've lost 3 opportunities within hours of these cars hitting the market. Crazy.
Plus I live in Colorado, while most of these cars seem to be on the east coast. I was willing to buy anywhere in the U.S. but the risk of potential damage from transport plus the additional cost pushed me toward this car.
All service records from 10k to last service in July 2013, clean clean car fax and I'm the 3rd owner.
Price? I paid 62.5k and the fact it's a C4S is fine (I was originally after a C2S) and may add some value.

congrats on the car. The factory wheels could be color matched as an option, the option sticker will have it listed there if so. Don't remember the option number...

Time to adjust the ride height, and add some mileage to that beauty.

Been there, thought that...be sure to do lots of research before pulling that trigger. There's actually a current thread concerning "993 vs Ferrari" on the forum...might want to check it out.

"Time to adjust the ride height, and add some mileage to that beauty".

That's exactly what I'm going to do!

First gremlin I noticed last night, the blinkers not working. Brake lights, head lights, etc work so I'm guessing a relay/fuse is faulty.

My goodness I cannot get over the condition of the interior. Feels like I stepped back into 1996 when I got to sit in a brand new C2s with my old man at a dealer as tire kickers. I couldn't afford anything more than my 1984 Nissan Sentra back then. But I told myself, one day....
