RS Door Panel install and speakers
#16
i have what looks like the same rs door panels on my 87. the perforated area is sized for a 5.5" speaker. i ended up cutting out the perforated section and mounting 6.5" speakers through the panel and door.

I finished installing the passenger side panel today and like the way it turned out. The scariest part was drilling into the door for the handle, and the most painful part was mounting the new latch. Mostly the installation was easy. I did make one minor modification to the Appbiz kit when I replaced the lower stainless screws and washers with black to better match the panel.
In addition to opening up the interior, I have dumped quite a bit of weight. The Wifi door panels and speakers weighed approximately 16 lbs per side and the RS panels weigh around 2 lbs per side not including speakers, which I am probably not going to replace. So nearly 30 lbs total reduction. I'm pretty sure the car has picked up a tenth in the quarter mile from this mod alone
Next up lower dash delete, and passenger airbag delete.
