+ 1 what a joke.
The joke is that people think a nearly 200K mile car with probable accident damage, substantial repairs by a some shop of unknown distinction, and no records is worth much of anything.

All the **** losers on here that spend more time waxing poetic and rubbing their cars with virgin goatskin clothes than driving wouldn't touch this car with a 30 foot pole.

A good shape C4S with 100k miles might sell for around $42k.

Add 90k miles, deduct $11k, brings you to $31k.

Add repairs with no records, deduct $4k...$27k

Add evidence of an accident and poor repairs...deduct another $8k

$19k is not out of the realm of possibility.

lol, yeah right.

Who the hell wants a 200k mile car with accident damage and poor repairs?

high $20s? 30-33k?

You are dreaming.

Seeing that I just paid 35k for a 97 C4S with 70k miles and with original paint and just needing a few things, clutch, suspension, there is no way I'd pay anywhere near 30k for this car.

You're spot on Quad. A dreamer I definitely am.

Something I learned about supply and demand seems to have worked out very well in my life so far.

Original sticker and receipt. Continue our lively Friday discussion. The more the better. Remember no record of top end.

Current owner has a vehicle that is sought after. Yes it does have "issues" but given the market as of late he would have to be in the dark or desperate to let that car go for anything less than $25K. Just my 2 cents.....

This is a one off situation. It is an extremely high mile car. Very few buyers are interested in cars with 190k miles.

then add an accident, then add a dubious engine/tranny repair, then add bad accident repair damage, then add whatever issues it may have that we don't know about.

The demand for this vehicle is nearly nonexistant. Almost definitely worth more parted out.

Quad, you are making the assumption that whoever buys the car is knowledgable. There are lots of unknowing buyers out there that have no clue what to look for, and additionally have money burning holes in their wallet.

Sure, if a rennlister were to buy it, it is probably low 20s, an uninformed buyer might still buy it for mid 30s or more.

As I once told a coworker, just because you work with above average intelligence people, do not assume that the rest of the population has that same capacity. (This was a political discussion regarding the running for Governor by Arnold)

Don't be a Quadcammer. People here think their cars are worth their weight in gold.

Edit: People here are agreeing with Quad? Time to lock this thread before the stars align.. Maybe?

Check the posts, someone just bought a pristine 1997 993 120k miles, all records, ruf wheels, nice clean car, paid 29k. I know it was not a WB but had all the records, perfect history, ugraded suspension, RS Springs on Bilstein shocks, etc.

A 993 with 200k miles, no history no records, should be worth less, WB or not.

Here is the link of the one that sold for 29k

I don't think an uninformed buyer would look at this price for a WB and then a NB then choose this car. Quad is still right.

unknowledgeable buyers hardly ever buy cars with nearly 200k miles.

I generally agree with both of you, but still contend there could be a sucker out there with more dollars than sense, and simply wants a WB 993. While there are lots of really intelligent people out there, there are likewise folks on the other end of the distribution.
