Depends on what way you look at it. If you guys mean from the perspective of a daily driver, or track rat, then agreed 100%. However, this is a collector's item. A car that will probably be parked and looked at. There are two 993 GT2 ClubSports for sale in Europe right now too. Those are listed for 300K EURO; I guess they're a bad buy too?

i buy cars to drive them, and at these prices, there are simply more enjoyable vehicles in my opinion. furthermore, the price differential to me far exceeds the extra enjoyment i would get out of it vs. a standard 993 with a few mods. is it more fun? yes...is it $130k more fun, no chance. rarity and prestige and all that dont mean squat to me.

Bet he would sell it.
I'm going to wander down, on the next sunny day, and take Alex's GP white
964 RS for a spin.
I wonder if the magnesium wheels are attached to it?

Depends what you mean by "better". If you mean faster, definitely. More comfortable, definitely. Flashier, newer, more reliable, all those things, definitely.
However, if you are a Porsche nut, for the rarity factor - given this car, the color, the mileage, end of an era, etc. then I dont think so. You mention that the special/rarity factor means nothing to you, well given that, you are 100% correct that this car would be an absolute waste and nonsense for you. But I am honed in on your comment that at this price, you would rather have some else. Curious. What?
