My history of personalized plates
DARTGAME-68 Dodge Dart GTS 340, pistol grip 4 speed. I'd be a rich man if I still had that car

MAG Z-28-1980 Z-28 naturally, motor work, lowered, ground effects(Gila skirts-essentially 5" dense rubber mouldings front and sides...scraped on the road almost at speed)-big wreck

1FASTCAT-84 Mercury Cougar XR-7, tons of SVO goodies on that little turbo motor. full body kit, etc...fond memories of a unique car

FASTCAT2-was on my 90 Audi Coupe Quattro, cams, head work, ecu, factory 5-1 header, big exhaust, Koni externally adjustable coil-overs, Delrin bushings everywhere. 13 years, and 276K of love

Mudboy(mtb nickname)-on my POS DD-02 Sport Trac, lowered, big sways, performance shocks, big 20's in summer

FAB5-911...not quite personalized. I was handed FAB5-910 at the DMV...asked if 911 was next, and could I have it please.Nice semi personalized without the damn ridiculous annual $$ NY adds on.

Nothing to really add in the line of a suggestion. Seen lots of nice vanity Pcar plates over the years, didn't understand some.

maybe some version of 911 HEVN ...might be different.

Unless of course your an athiest

I went with the standard issue plate but asked the clerk to find one that started with 993. We have three digits and three letters, so it worked out pretty well.

boman993, so you wanted "no 93?" Auf Deutsch, "9" is "Neun." My favorite plate was always NEUNELF, "911." After my too-long hiatus from Porsche ownership, it was gone and I settled for Neun 11.

Yep! I wanted to scramble the word "nine", true that it is also "no" in German. NEUN93 was taken. I didn't want people to read it as "NOUN 93"...

I'm sorry, but you're a bit scrambled in thought; Neun is nine and Nein is no. That was why you were asked if you wanted to say "no 93".
Or, I'm scrambled understanding your logic or intent.

I see--boman993 scrambled the letters but it still is pronounced "9 93."

Not sure what part of my explanation you don't understand. I want any random person on the street, that may or may not know anything about German or Porsche, to read the plate as "993".. "993" and "NINE93" were taken. "NEIN93" was available. I don't care that it means "no" in German. "Neun93" wouldn't have worked because it reads as "noun93"..

Does that make more sense?

I guess the noun thing has me. Neun is pronounced "noyne". But, I see what you're saying about the pronunciation of nein.

Having been around a lot of Germans, it just seemed a bit off. But, to the layperson, I get the drift.
