Hi,
Vinyl on sunroof on my 1996 993 coupe was sagging so I took to my local upholster, he was going to replace it but all the vinyl were to thick so he ordered one from pelican guys.
Here is the question my upholster had, there are 2 rubber pieces (roughly 3-4" long) do those rubber pieces go inside the track or outside?
Really appreciate it if some one can answer the question please.
Can't see the picture but I think I can guess what you are talking about. The pieces are plastic not rubber and should be about almost the same length as the length (front to back) of the sunroof headliner. They will slip over the edge so that the headliner will slide in the sunroof track. They sometimes fall out when you remove the headliner which may have happened in this case. Hopefully they are not broken (also seems to happen a lot) because afaik they are not a Porsche replacement part
AS a tip for your upholterer since you do not want to bend and break these pieces you almost need to place them in the track first and then slide the sunroof headliner into these pieces when you are reinstalling the sunroof .. not fun
