Default I would like to install a Kenwood-KIV-BT901, help needed.

Hey.

I have a 1996 C2 Coupe without the amp. All I want to do is to replace the headunit for something that is modern and has Bluetooth like this one....

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KIV9...KIV-BT901.html

What do I need and what do I need to do?

If I just wanted to buy everything I need for the install what do I need?

This?

http://www.swstereo.com/accessdetail.php?prodID=108

One of these?

http://www.swstereo.com/accessdetail.php?prodID=100

Anything else?

I've searched but the amount of information is absolutely daunting and most installations seem to go for replacing amps and speakers. I may install replacement door speakers in the future but for the moment its baby steps.

Thks

I have the same head unit. Love it. Occasionally i have trouble getting the blue tooth to connect. If i turn bluetooth on my phone on first, then turn on the head unit it works well.

If you do not have the amp you should only need a connector without the rca style plug. I dont think i needed the antenna adapter on mine.

I would call both those vendors and talk to them on the phone as part of the make your mind up process. Can't speak for the second one - SW - but I recently dealt with Crutchfield on the phone and the guy was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
I'm on the OEM head unit bandwagon, but I must say the one you picked out looks like it will blend in quite nicely with the dash. Then there's all those features... weak moment... I could easily be turned! Post an update on how it goes..

The glare on the screen is awful and it isn't very user friendly. HD Radio takes forever to scroll through stations. I normally just have my iPod plugged in and pick a playlist or artist and roll.

Forgot about the screen glare. I stream Pandora most of the time. I have never used the usb option or the xm option. The hands free, nav over stereo and bluetooth streaming are the reasons I purchased it. The glare is pretty awful, not aure if other aftermarkets have the same issue.

There is some glare but I use the pos contrast and does tame it. Agree I purchased more for iPod use
