I see from the stuff you have posted you like car audio also. Not sure if you are aware but Scott Buwalda of Hybrid Audio Speakers http://hybrid-audio.com/ is right in your backyard in Cumming. He has won the most National events history. He just opened up a shop doing car builds and I bet he could come up with a nice front sub for you. Maybe we could get a group-buy together, I would love a small super light weight set up myself.

Spot On - clever enough!
My amp install is similar, however 2 amps are stacked; one on top of another. The weight (26lbs total) has a low CG and out front... Always carrying the weight of grocery's, beer and wine...
Thanks.

Depending on dimensions, some amps probably wouldn't fit within the confines of the spare.
M.Schneider, be careful, liquids will shift weight on you!

Hey Daryl -
Small world, we live in Cumming, GA. I've heard of the Hybrid Audio firm as its focus is car audio - nice gear with an emphasis on marketing, no? Mostly established designs with off-shore manufacturing by others, nice gear mind you, adding a dash of marketing flare. However name a company in the 12V arena who doesn't operate similarly.
I'd be interested in working with a tier one fabrication shop.... Thanks for the tip!
And yes to a front passenger side, discrete 8" sub frequency enclosure. "Make that 2, to go"
I'll ring their shop first thing. I'll PM ya.
P.S., A mapquest snapshot show's their shop about 2 miles from me... Dam! Had no idea they opened a shop... I'll stop in there 1st thing.

The building at the address of Hybrid Audio in Cumming, GA was less of a fabrication shop and more of a warehouse facility supporting the companies core speaker sales business. The nickel tour by an employee didn't present much.
In time maybe the Hybrid-Audio fabrication operation will grow into something more . . .

Alpine ida-305s (~$200 on ebay) + ipod nano loaded with music in the glovebox + Alpine 6 channel amp in the trunk + boston acoustics 6.5s in the doors + pyle subs in Rod Birch (Car Audio Innovations) boxes in the rear footwells. Bluetooth + Pandora + sounds great, even with the top down at 80 mph.
