Don't sell. I sold a '87 Carrera that was all sorted out to go to a water cooled in 2001. Regretted the decision and went back to a 993. If you're like me you'll miss the air cooled sounds, clutch actuated from the floor, etc.

I sold my '87 911 two years ago and put a stong price of $27k on it. It was in very good shape mechanically and cosmetically, but it was no cream puff. Did I think it would fetch that - nope. Did people tell me I was nuts - yes. Did I get numerous offers of 10k less - yes. Did the car sell for my full asking price - yup.
My thought pattern was this - I wanted a 993. I put a price on my '87 that I could live with. If it sold - great. If it didn't - well that's great too. I loved the car and the only way I was going to get rid of it was if I could get a strong price to help me jump to a 993.

No question all 993's have seen a nice jump in market pricing over the last 12-18 months. I think that is also bringing some "on the fence" sellers out and we are seeing more decent cars from active members selling.
About 3 years ago I sold my 993 4S on a whim. It went back to Germany for full asking price, no PPI, just a wire transfer and a carrier showed up. Huge mistake for me as I missed it within 60 days. My 1997 2S is not for sale and unless my world caves in never will be.
I'm just glad I got the "sell my air-cooled Porsche for a newer water cooled Porsche" finally out of my system. I now feel very lucky that I found my 2 owner, bone stock 2S with 32K miles in Feb. of 2012 before all this new level of pricing entered the market.
Like others of said, live for the now. Life is short. GLWS. I hope you get strong money for your car and can enjoy your next endeavor.

Yeah, I got my 25K mile, Guards Red/Beige C2 in 2009 and the seller dropped the price $5K off the Cars.com price before I even saw it, and then $3K more while I was getting ready to get back in my car!! But in that day lotsa guys were unloading their cars and other "investments".
I might be able to now get his original asking price (but I'm not about to sell).....crazy!!
