The shut lines look great, the body appears flawless as does the interior.
He put new tires on last Fall, serviced at the local dealer annually since new. All service records are with available including the window sticker($89k).
From what I can gather, something in the mind 50's may be right.
What does the collective knowledge of the group say?

Question, is it tip or manual?

Being a C4, it can only be a manual.

Yep, manual... PPI finished yesterday. Mileage verified via service documentation. AC worked well however, the fan speed varied from hi to lo randomly and the cruise would not engage. That's it... The owner will have the dealer investigate these today. Oh, and no leaks!

Thanks for all the advice.

Here's a seemingly mint example of a Cab with under 20k miles.

arr0, we are at the mid 50's... waiting to hear from the dealer on the HVAC situation. The seller is arranging that but, indicated he was not interested in paying to have anything repaired! If it turns out to be something like the CCU, I'm going to pass on the car! I'll have to wait for the dealer to respond.

it's good to hear you being rational and willing to walk away.
too often it's easy to "fall in love" and end up making decision to regret later.
if this were a killer deal(or a one of a kind model), i could see you regret not buying it later on(like me passing on an '87 carrera cab in white/blue for $25k a while back), but otherwise i think you'll find other cars that you'll love in the future.

p.s. i met a client a while ago who had a ferrari F40. as i was admiring it, i asked him what his ownership experience had been. he said that it had 900 miles on it and that he rarely drove it because it was too darn uncomfortable/stiff. you know what he said was the best part of the F40? BUYING IT. in other words, enjoy your search...take your time - this is like hunting and it should be FUN!

Its been difficult finding a car in excellent condition and this one appears to be one. We will have a PPI done as suggested as I am concerned about oil leaks, CIA, clutch etc.
We have been looking for a nice 993 for several months. Although we were not looking for a Cab, this is the first one we have looked at that checks all the boxes.Gary
Do you really want a Cab? If you don't why buy one? Be patient and the right car will come along.

I wish the seller luck with that approach. If he doesn't pay now, he'll end up paying later with a lower price since he's shifting the cost and burden of responsibility onto a buyer. IMO, if you're paying top dollar for a car, and you are, you should not be saddled with AC and cruise control problems.

+1.

in addition, if the car would "easily" sell for $59k...it would have already be gone, imo.

Don't fall in love with the low miles either. I bought my 97 993 cab at 15k miles 10+ years ago and now have 31k miles on it. A lot of the issues we relate to mileage are just as much time related. For example, all three of my window switches have broken and been repaired, my odometer gear broke last week and I fixed this past weekend, the 2 yo canvas top I put on is developing a new hole and my door stop just started clicking and will need a new weld. All this with 31k miles.

On top of this, some of the seals in the car are starting to harden and tear/fail. Nothing you can do but replace them. Age is just as hard as mileage on a car, and the car is 16 years old. Just sayin...

jhb, thanks for the heads-up. We picked the car up this past week soooo, we are in to it now! Our '91 turbo has 37K on it and a few issues have come up that are probably age related more than anything. I suspect we will bump into a few of these on the '97... like yourself, we will tackle them as they pop up.
I will say the car drives GREAT! First impressions are it is a more relaxed driving experience then the '91.
