'97C4 Cab market

I don't know about current value (I think it's really anyone's guess these days,) but with an $89k sticker it must have quite a few options.
And the C4 gets you ABD and 4-channel ABS which can be handy (optional on C2's)
Finally, a premium for a low-mile p-car is an awfully big risk to me, unless there are records to back it up, very fortunate there. (Ever wonder why most really low mile cars have little to no documentation and why they're seemingly all at dealers?)
Anyway, hope the PPI works out, sounds like a score at most any price.

wait a minute........ I thought C4S cars were the rarest of them all
J/K - in all honesty, don't buy a 993 because someone tells you it is the most "collectable" or "rarest" of them all. Buy the car you can't live without..... If you close your eyes in your garage and see a widebody S car or a turbo sitting there, then buy a widebody S car or the turbo. That being said, the black cab seems like a great car (PPI for sure) but it is ultimately worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I can say that when I was shopping for my 993, prices were all over the place and low mileage does command a premium for sure. The values of all 993's are only going up. So buy a car with documented history and get a PPI and enjoy it. :-)

these threads get silly and people get angry.
Bottom line, there is enough info out there to get an idea of fair price...then take the time to determine what the car is valued at TO YOU.
whether someone thinks cab sucks or turbos suck or 993s suck, really should have no impact on your belief of value TO YOU.

I like my 911s in simplest, rear driven, manual transmission, NB coupe form best. Doesn't mean I don't like all wheel drive, Cabs, Targas, Turbos etc. They are all part of the same family and each seperate model is more niche within a niche than radically deifferent than the next. Each person here likely has their preference and I for one won't argue that choice. 911s of any vintage, spec, body type etc are different than their contemporaries and all the better for it.
Whichever designation the car is, it has only 14K miles.
Personally, I would not really seek out a 14K mile car. I couldn't feel but a little guilty driving it (it's still a virgin).
But, on the other hand, that being said, why save it for the next guy?

i stand by my post, and prefaced it all with the fact that it was "imho."
but just for fun, i'm going to clarify.
when i said "better", i was referring to a better car, and a better value for the money. i recognize that these are cars and are meant to be driven and enjoyed, but all things being equal. that said, for the same money, even within the 993 family, i think buying a C2S or C4S would be a better "value" than a C4 cabriolet.
lastly, i'm not making assumptions on the collectors market. i've owned 6 porsches(and usually sold them for same or more $ each time), and based on what i've read in various publications as well as looking at current trends, imho, there's currently no collector market for 993 C4 cab(others feel free to chime in). if an enthusiast wants to have a fun rag top that's a collectible, i think the 993 Speedster would be a great buy.
