Default Better than a wrap, cheaper than paint !!!

I found a company in Montreal (but I'm sure there are some in your region) that does "plasti dip" on cars. Do you know this product? It's better than a wrap since it's shooted on the car just like a paint so it covers everything.

It only cost 850$ for matte color or 950$ for a gloss color. Since it's quite thick, it can hide the stone chips on the car. They can also paint the mags for 100$. I met the guy who does it and he has an affiliation with Porsche dealership in town.

I will do it on mine in July. I was thinking about riviera Blue or slate grey, but I think I'll be conservative and stay with white.

What do you think about this product?

Look at theses pictures :

Interested to see how that works out for you.

I am always a little worried if it sounds too good.

I saw a couple of cars on site, including a Cayenne and it looks good. If I don't like it on if any problem, it can be taken out in about an hour.

I don't want to plug any company but I thought "Plasti dip" was done by "Performix". But I'm sure there are a lot of companies who sells / install this product.

There are a few stories of this stuff "ruining" people's paint finishes floating
around the internet. I remember reading a thread on VWVortex about a 996
Turbo that was Plastidipped white and it ended up taking off some clear coat
upon removal.

In my case, my car needs a full paint anyway. But since I don't have a couple thousands $, it would be my temporary solution.

are you planning for matte or gloss color? I've saw some plastic dip wheels in matte color and the surface are not smooth as paint. Interesting to see how the gloss finish on car.

The guy suggested me to do it matte, drive the car for 2 weeks and if I don't like it, he would apply the gloss. And yes matte color is more rough since it's like a primer. I personally prefer gloss color (less fake) but I heard Mercedes, Audi and BMW now offer a matte white color.

I watched a couple of videos on YouTube and it was about the most ridiculous thing I've seen done to a car.
Aweful stuff.

I personally like it for a temporary solution or for a change. The biggest thing I've heard is it can be a pain to remove all the little splatters that tend to get in the door jams and hard to get reach places. I vote Riv. Blue

Seriously folks, spraying a 993 in rubber

I'd rather use emulsion and a roller or brush.

I've done my wheels and my helmet. If it gets too thin, it is really hard to remove. Also the little crevices are hard to get it out of. I've only seen a few basic colors offered, and Rivi Blue definitely isn't one of them.

Default Sounds Like Dippity Glass

Remember the dip and coat hanger wire stuff from when we were kids that gave an added benefit of a hallucinogenic experience inhaling it's fumes while it dried?
